1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing and using the GharKaam platform (“Service”), you accept and agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use GharKaam. These terms apply to all users including customers seeking domestic help and workers providing services.

2. Description of Service

GharKaam is a platform that connects households with verified domestic helpers for services including house cleaning, cooking, childcare, elderly care, laundry, gardening, and other home tasks. We facilitate the discovery, booking, payment, and review process but are not the direct employer of any worker on the platform.

3. User Accounts

When you register for an account, you agree to:

  • Provide accurate, current, and complete information
  • Maintain and update your information to keep it accurate
  • Maintain the security of your account credentials
  • Accept responsibility for all activities under your account
  • Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use

4. Worker Verification

All workers on GharKaam undergo background verification including Aadhaar validation and KYC document review. While we take reasonable steps to verify worker identities and credentials, we do not guarantee the accuracy of all information provided by workers. Customers should exercise their own judgement when engaging services.

5. Bookings and Payments

By making a booking through GharKaam, you agree to:

  • Pay the agreed service fee plus applicable platform fees (10%)
  • Payments are processed securely through Stripe/Razorpay
  • Funds are held in escrow until service completion is confirmed
  • Cancellations made less than 24 hours before scheduled service may incur a fee
  • Disputes must be raised within 48 hours of service completion

6. Worker Obligations

Workers on the platform agree to:

  • Complete valid KYC verification before accepting bookings
  • Provide services professionally and as described in their profile
  • Arrive on time for scheduled bookings
  • Maintain accurate availability calendars
  • Comply with all applicable Indian labour laws and tax regulations
  • Not solicit customers for off-platform transactions

7. User Conduct

All users agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
  • Harass, abuse, or discriminate against any user
  • Post false, misleading, or defamatory reviews
  • Attempt to circumvent platform fees through off-platform arrangements
  • Upload malicious code or interfere with platform operations
  • Impersonate any person or entity

8. Intellectual Property

The GharKaam platform, including its design, logos, features, and content, is owned by GharKaam and protected by Indian copyright and trademark laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works without our written permission.

9. Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED ON AN “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” BASIS. GHARKAAM ACTS AS A MARKETPLACE CONNECTING CUSTOMERS AND WORKERS AND DOES NOT GUARANTEE THE QUALITY, SAFETY, OR LEGALITY OF SERVICES PROVIDED BY WORKERS. WE ARE NOT LIABLE FOR ANY DAMAGES ARISING FROM INTERACTIONS BETWEEN USERS.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by Indian law, GharKaam shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising from your use of the Service.

11. Dispute Resolution

Any disputes between customers and workers should first be raised through the GharKaam dispute resolution system. If unresolved, disputes shall be governed by Indian law and subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of courts in Bangalore, Karnataka.

12. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account at our discretion for violations of these Terms, fraudulent activity, or harmful behaviour. Upon termination, any pending payouts will be processed and your right to use the Service will cease immediately.

13. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Material changes will be communicated with at least 30 days notice. Continued use of GharKaam after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
